Sunday Morning Service · Colossians 1:18 · Faith Baptist Church, Williston, Florida
From Christ cleansing the temple to Nicodemus coming by night, a message on the one sign that proves who Jesus is, and on the evidence of true faith He looks for in us.
In this message:
• Christ comes suddenly to His temple and establishes His authority over His Father's house (John 2:13-17; Malachi 3:1)
• It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8)
• The Jews require a sign, and Christ gives them His death and resurrection: "destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (John 2:18-22; 1 Corinthians 1:22)
• The gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, the greatest evidence and the one that saves the soul
• Many believed when they saw the miracles, but Jesus did not commit Himself unto them, for He knew what was in man (John 2:23-25; Psalm 11:4; Jeremiah 17:9-10; 2 Timothy 2:19)
• Nicodemus came to Jesus by night, calling Him Rabbi and Master while hiding from being seen with Him (John 3:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:5; Isaiah 29:15)
• Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6:46; Luke 19:39)
• Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3; John 1:11-13)
• Faith is the evidence of things not seen, and the Lord looks into the heart for true, saving faith (Hebrews 11:1)
