More Powerful Than Rome

Rome could break, bruise and put a man to death — but Paul was not ashamed, because the gospel is the power of God. • "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" (Romans 1:16). • Rome was an iron power, a breaking-in-pieces power, a bruising power, with power to put Paul to death — and he still said, "I do" want to go. • The gospel is a greater power than the power of the world's most powerful empire.
